These are some of Wilson’s earliest windows, made just after he left Ballantine’s studio. When first unveiled they created a huge stir – the Scotsman, in a long report, said “In various respects the windows have a special interest as a definitely original and creative effort. One of these points of interest, for example, is the manner in which primary colours are purposely modified by their environment. The use of detached colour notes gives a jewel-like character to the design, suggesting not so much areas of colour in glass as a composition from jewel-like elements.”
