The inscription reads “TO THE GLORY OF GOD AND IN MEMORY OF JAMES JOHNSTON KIER ARTIST IN STAINED GLASS ERECTED BY HIS WIDOW 1907”. Until this date many windows in Scotland bear the mark of W & J J Kier, a company founded by David Kier of Irvine and continued by his sons William and James Johnston.
