Swallows on a cloudy sky have been etched onto a French flashed glass, which is a clear glass overlain with a thin layer of blue glass. Resists can be applied (plastic film for the birds, bitumen for the clouds) and then when the glass is immersed in hydrofluoric acid it eats into the exposed areas of the blue. And because this is a “Creation” window, as well as a variety of birds and fish, one can also see Adam & Eve, the sun, the moon and the stars.
