This War Memorial was created by the Stephen Adam Studio long after the death of Adam in 1909. The window was exceptional in its day for the depiction of the machinery of war and a landscape littered with grave markers. The luscious angels flanking the Risen Christ are repeated at St Matthew’s Church in Paisley, but war has been represented by kneeling warriors in medieval armour, instead of tanks and graves.
