Burns Memorial window Paul Lucky (2001)

Wellwood Burns Centre, the home of Irvine Burns Club

Manuscripts and documents relating to Burns were selected from the collection of the Burns Club and facsimiles were printed onto antique glass. The artist then used traditional glass painting techniques to add a map relating to Burns time in Irvine and an image of a carding comb such as Burns would have used during his time as a flax dresser. The whole is enlivened with a scattering of blue flax flowers.
