Davis trained with Christopher Whall; as one of Whall’s first students, Davis lived with his mentor’s family for a time. Although he was English, it is generally agreed that his finest work is to be found in Scotland. His magnificent windows in Dunblane Cathedral are very well known yet some of his other work, such as here in Perth deserves a wider audience. His career was cut short by an accident in which he suffered from an accidental fire and resulting fumes in 1915.
