The inscription “Full of Good Works” informs us that this is Tabitha, also called Dorcas, whose story is told in Acts Ch9 v36-42. She is renowned for her good works and there are still charitable Dorcas Societies in many countries. It is somewhat surprising that she is less often mentioned for the other facet of the story – that she was raised from the dead by St Peter!
